oil mill / Inveruno / 1919 - 1981 / 2007, 2008
This oil mill was founded in 1919 by Giovanni Battista Belloli. After being significantly enlarged during the 1930s, the plant became a leading edible and technical oils producer (peanuts, falex, rapeseed, sesame, soy, sunflower and olive). In the same period a glycerine manufacturing unit was added too. The company ceased to exist in 1981, two years after the death of the founder.
Article from La Chimica e l'Industria (the Journal of Chemical Industry), June 1957, reporting a detailed visit to the oil mill by the members of the Italian Chemistry Society.
